Confidence to achieve further profit growth remains high!
The 5th Baader Investment Conference had a vibrant start yesterday. On the first of three days, 28 companies held presentations at our event venue Sofitel in Munich. In addition, we arranged more than 350 individual and small group meetings between investors and 49 companies.
Most presenting companies saw themselves well on track to unlock further earnings potential over time. While macro headwinds continue to dent economic prospects, several corporates expressed confidence regarding the growth potential existing in some emerging markets. In this respect, ANDRITZ, GEA, H&R, RHI and Wacker Neuson stated that they expect to generate further growth by seizing investment opportunities there.
Moreover, several companies cited their ability for innovation as an important driver for future profits. As an example, Merck highlighted that this factor continues to be an important catalyst for their growth prospects whileWirecard presented several product innovations enabling the company to offer a platform combining a wide range of sales channels. Dialog Semiconductor was upbeat for iPhone related growth prospects.
Last but not least, several companies flagged a transformation that would put them in a better position to unlock further growth potential. In this respect, SGL CARBON was optimistic that their Performance Products division could be divested soon, while thyssenkrupp expressed confidence that a business combination will be reached for their Steel Europe activities, even though the Brexit vote is somewhat delaying this process. Furthermore,TOM TAILOR announced to come up with a much sharper and more ambitious restructuring plan soon while Semperit issued a fresh profit warning.
