Wolford: Austrian leg- and bodywear producer Wolford announced Fosun Fashion Brand Management Company (FFBM) as its new partner to manage the company’s brand identity in the important Chinese market. FFBM is a subsidiary of Fosun Fashion Group and a full-service provider focusing on marketing and sales of luxury brands in China. Wolford CEO Axel Dreher commented: “The FFBM team was just as convincing to us as the successful track record of the brands it has represented up until now. The company has the necessary experience and the right contacts and will provide an indispensable local touch to our brand presence as well as for the dynamic development of our business in China”. According to Wolford, studies show that sales of premium brands in China have shown clear double-digit growth recently, above all thanks to eager to millennials who are eager to buy. Fosun Industrial Holdings Limited holds around 58 percent of the shares of the Wolford group.

voestalpine: According to report published by Baltic Times Lithuan railways is planning to purchase Euros 36.5 min worth of rails for track repairs this year and next year.  A first Euro 11.5 mn contract has already been signed with Latvia's rail supplier Sigmen. Preliminary contracts with the winning bidders, Sigmen and Voestalpine VAE Legetecha, were signed last December, according to information on Lithuania's central public procurement website.

ams: ams, an Austrian based  supplier of high performance sensor solutions, announced the launch of Merano-Photodiode (PD), an in-frared (IR) laser flood illuminator module which provides the uniform light output needed in mobile 3D sensing applications such as user face recognition. By introducing a Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL)-based flood illuminator in a slim package, ams is helping to advance the introduction of 3D sensing applications in mainstream mobile phones. “ams is the world’s leading integrated manufacturer of VCSEL-based illumination modules for the mobile phone, producing both the emitter and micro-optic components in-house. This means that ams can match the components to give optimized performance, while at the same time achieving a competitive system cost and fast time-to-market for new and improved products such as Merano-PD,” says Lukas Steinmann, General Manager of the 3D Sensing, Module and Solution Business Line at ams.
