Contracts
Multiyear supply contract signed on July 15, 2016 in Toulouse\nSignificant increase of business volume and extension of product range\nDelivery of aluminium plate, sheet and coil for all Airbus aircraft programs\nThe contract includes a significant increase of business volume commencing January 2017. The contract is the largest ever signed between AMAG and Airbus.
"AMAG and Airbus have maintained a successful partnership since the year 2005. This contract will significantly expand our business with Airbus and strengthen our position as a valued supplier to the aircraft industry. We are proud to serve Airbus with high quality rolled products for some of the most advanced aircraft", said Helmut Wieser, CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG.
AMAG will supply aerospace certified aluminium flat rolled products to Airbus mainly for the use in the aircraft structure and skin of all aircraft families. Another focus is on fostering AMAG?s involvement within Airbus? supply chain through common recycling projects and initiatives to increase material efficiency.
With the new hot rolling mill complex in Ranshofen AMAG has increased the production capacity and extended the portfolio of hot rolled products to larger dimensions. Moreover AMAG recently started the construction activities for the new cold rolling mill and additional heat treatment and upgrading capacity.
"The new cold rolling mill, scheduled for start in 2017, will close the gap in the portfolio of wide cold rolled strip and sheet and will make AMAG a full range supplier. With our strategic growth program we have created the base for the expansion of the business with Airbus and for future growth with our customers", said AMAG CEO Helmut Wieser.
