21st Austria weekly - FACC, Vienna Airport (14/06/2022)

19.06.2022

FACC: Aerospace supplier FACC AG presented its new cabin concept at the international aviation trade fair AIX. When creating the Bios Future Cabin, the main focus was placed on the needs of passengers and the use of sustainable materials. The company has opted for a resin derived from sugar cane, which has been optimized for use in aviation through intensive research work. "When redesigning the aircraft interior, we paid particular attention to making efficient use of the available space," explains CEO Robert Machtlinger. The result: 20% more room to move and 50% more storage space compared to current-generation aircraft. This was made possible by a design approach that integrates seamlessly with the load-bearing elements of the aircraft.
FACC: weekly performance: -9.69%

Flughafen Wien (Vienna Airport): The upward trend in the Flughafen Wien Group continued in 2022. The total of 2,706,920 passengers handled by the Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) and 2,113,282 travellers at Vienna Airport was more than five times higher than in the prior-year month of May 2021. Passenger volume of the Flughafen Wien Group and Vienna Airport equalled 75.4% and 73.5% respectively of the pre-crisis level of May 2019 – thus still more than quarter lower (26.5%) than before the pandemic.
Flughafen Wien: weekly performance: 24.14%
