21st Austria weekly - Wienerberger, statistics (05/09/2018)

05.09.2018

Wienerberger: Europe's leading building materials producer Wienerberger Group has signed a partnership agreement with Fastbrick Robotics Limited, an Australian listed company focussed on robotic construction with clay bricks and blocks. The aim of the partnership is to develop, test and manufacture optimized clay blocks for FBR’s Hadrian X construction robot. These will subsequently be used in a pilot project in Europe and launched in Wienerberger markets together with the Hadrian X upon successful completion. "Together with FBR, we want to develop solutions based on the pioneering Hadrian X technology, which allows housing construction projects to be executed faster and more cost-effectively. Alongside these advantages, the technology requires fewer resources and is less labor-intensive. This cooperation is a further step in our strategy to offer our customers innovative products, services and solutions", commented Heimo Scheuch, CEO of Wienerberger.
Wienerberger: weekly performance: -2.80%

Statistics: In the first half of 2018, turnover of Austrian service enterprises increased by 5.8% in nominal terms compared to the same period of the preceding year, as Statistics Austria reports. In the same period, turnover in trade increased by 3.9% in nominal terms. Taking inflation into account, sales in trade rose by 1.7%.
