21st Austria weekly - Porr, Warimpex, Semperit, Wienerberger, Pierer Mobility (30/08/2022)

04.09.2022

Porr: Construction group Porr put in a successful performance in the volatile first half of 2022. Rising by 2.6% to more than EUR 8 bn, the order book achieved an all-time high. This has solidified the stable basis for economic activity in the coming years. The most important projects include the interior works of the VIO Plaza and the Podhagskygasse residential complex, both in Vienna, as well as the revitalisation of Barrandov Bridge in Prague. Other key new orders include the Drammen Bybrua city bridge in Norway and a thermal waste-to-energy treatment plant in Rzeszów, Poland. “We are currently pursuing a strategy of selective order acquisition. This has proven its value particularly in the first half of the year”, explained Strauss. Porr generated EBT of Euro  22.1 mn.
Porr: weekly performance: -6.28%

Warimpex: Real Estate developer Warimpex Group reported positive operating performance for its office properties and hotels in the first half of 2022. Revenues from office property rental and from hotel operations improved in annual comparison. Two transactions were also successfully closed in June, one being the sale of the B52 office building in Budapest with over 5,200 square metres of net floor space under a share deal. The other was Warimpex’s purchase of Red Tower in Łódź with over 12,400 square metres of lettable space. Plans are in place to renovate the office tower and to expand it with a co-working zone and conference rooms. Around 40 per cent of the space at the building is occupied at the moment. Total revenues improved from Euro 12.8 mn to Euro 20.1 mn. Profit in the first half of 2022 reached 13.4 mn, compared with Euro 1.7 mn in the previous year.
Warimpex: weekly performance: 9.47%

Semperit: Helmut Sorger, most recently CFO of the North America division of the publicly listed company Wienerberger AG, on 1 October 2022 will be taking over as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Semperit Group, an internationally oriented group that develops and produces highly specialised polymer products for the industrial and medical sectors. He will be succeeding Petra Preining (49), who is resigning from her position prematurely as she moves on to a new professional challenge. The Supervisory Board of Semperit AG Holding has acknowledged her decision with great regret and has approved the mutually agreed termination of her contract with effect from 30 September 2022. Looking ahead, the Supervisory Board is excited about the prospect of working with Helmut Sorger.
Semperit: weekly performance: -3.30%

Wienerberger: Wienerberger currently considers the supply of natural gas to be secured in all its markets. Nevertheless, the company used the opportunity to invest in the security of gas supply, securing a total gas capacity of 25 gigawatt hours (GWh) at the Haidach storage facility for the company. Based on the consumption of 390 GWh of gas per year at all production sites, 25 GWh would be sufficient to keep Wienerberger’s roof tile and clay block plants of strategic importance for the Austrian economy in operation for a longer period of time in the event of a substantial cut in gas supply.
Wienerberger: weekly performance: 1.67%

Pierer Mobility: In the first half of 2022, the Pierer Mobility Group increased group revenue by 7.1% to Euro 1,154.1 mn (previous year: Euro 1,078.0 mn). The EBIT of Euro 92.8 mn in the reporting period was below the figure for the previous year of Euro 102.6 mn. Against the backdrop of difficulties in the supply chain affecting both segments and the associated supply bottlenecks, the Motorcycle Division of the company sold a total of 163,334 KTM, Husqvarna and GASGAS motorcycles in the first six months of the financial year (previous year: 176,045). Including the models sold by our partner Bajaj, unit sales in the first half of 2022 are therefore just 7.2% below the previous year. In the Bicycle Division, a total of 51,417 units were sold (-3.7%). Of these, 34,829 were e-bicycles (previous year: 39,601) and 16,588 were conventional bicycles (previous year: 13,777) of the Husqvarna, GASGAS, FELT and R Raymon brands.
Pierer Mobility: weekly performance: -0.84%
