Austrian Post: The Austrian Post subsidiary bank99 AG has concluded an agreement with ING-DiBa AG to acquire the retail business of ING in Austria. In particular, this applies to current accounts, consumer loans and mortgage loans as well as securities investments. The acquisition does not encompass the savings customers in Austria. The takeover of the retail business will add more than 100,000 customers and a balance sheet total of about Euro 1.7 bn to bank99. The corporate client business (wholesale banking) of the Austrian subsidiary will remain with ING.

OMV: Norwegian arm of Austrian oil and gas company OMV has found oil located six kilometres south of the Oselvar field in the southern North Sea. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) said that the wildcat well 1/3-13, located in production license 970, was drilled near the Ipswich oil discovery from 2008, 300 kilometres southwest of Stavanger. OMV is the operator of the licence with an ownership interest of 60 per cent. Other licensees are Petoro and Neptune Energy with 20 per cent each.

A1 Telekom Austria: A1 Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of Euro 1.166 bin for the second quarter of 2021, an increase of 6.4% mainly driven by higher fixed and mobile service revenues, as well as higher equipment revenue growth. Group EBITDA grew by 9.6% from Euro 390.1 mn in Q2 2020 to Euro 427.7 mn twelve months later, due to higher service revenues outweighing an increased cost base. Driven by the improved operational performance the Group reported a 9.8% increase in net profit from Euro 113.8 mn to Euro 125.0 mn over the same period. At 30 June 2021 A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 22.325 million wireless subscribers, an increase of 5.3% year-on-year, as the number of contract customers rose in almost all markets driven by strong growth in M2M subscribers. Growth was also driven by the ongoing strong demand for mobile Wi-Fi routers as well as the continued shift from pre-paid to contract offers.
