Strabag: Strabag, the European construction technology group, is further consolidating its strong market position in Poland with a contract worth around EUR 99 million. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has awarded the construction of the 13.6 km Chelm bypass road S12 east of Lublin near the border with Ukraine to Strabag's Polish subsidiary Strabag Sp. z o.o. The construction work is expected to take around 36 months. "In terms of output volume, Poland is our third strongest country after the core markets of Germany and Austria, and I am pleased that this successful path will continue in 2021 thanks to new contracts like this one," explains Thomas Birtel, CEO of Strabag SE.

UBM: Following the successful placement of a Euro 150 mn sustainability-linked bond (senior bond) in May 2021, real estate developer UBM concluded the issue of its first deeply subordinated sustainability-linked bond (hybrid bond) for Euro 100 mn. The coupon was set at 5.50%. The issue proceeds will be used to realise new and existing projects, above all in the core markets of Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Poland. “The run by international investors on our first sustainability-linked hybrid bond again demonstrates the capital market’s tremendous confidence in UBM and our new green. smart. and more. strategy”, explained Patric Thate, CFO of UBM Development AG.

Semperit: The publicly listed rubber company Semperit Group will open a new manufacturing facility for rubber gaskets in the USA this autumn and relocate its current North America headquarters and distribution warehouse to Newnan, Georgia. The investment volume totals USD 9 mn (approx. Euro 7.4 mn); the company plans to create 70 jobs. "Customer intimacy is one of Semperit's strategic guiding principles. With our commitment and investments in a market-oriented approach, stronger focus on applications, and faster product development, we want to drive growth in North and South America," says Martin Füllenbach, CEO of Semperit AG Holding.
