21st Austria weekly - Strabag, Lenzing, EVN, Kapsch TrafficCom (27/05/2021)

30.05.2021

Strabag: Strabag SE, the publicly listed European-based technology group for construction services, generated an output volume of Euro 2.7 bn in the first quarter of 2021, down 2 % in a year-on-year comparison. The order backlog reached a new record level of Euro 20.1 bn (+13 % compared with 31 March 2020). "For the first time in our group's history, the order backlog exceeds the EUR 20 billion mark, driven by large-scale projects in Germany and the UK, but also by smaller projects, for example in the continued stable residential and office construction sector," says Thomas Birtel, CEO of Strabag SE. The Management Board continues to expect an output volume slightly above the previous year's level in the 2021 financial year, i.e. above Euro 15.4 bn. In view of the current price developments for building materials in all core markets, the previously announced normalisation of the EBIT margin to below 4 % can be confirmed. Net investment (cash flow from investing activities) is not expected to exceed Euro 450 mn.
Strabag: weekly performance: 1.26%

Lenzing: Lenzing Group, a provider of sustainably produced specialty fibers for the global textile and nonwoven industries, announced the completion of an air purification and sulfur recovery plant at the Lenzing facility. Lenzing has invested some Euro 40 mn in this project since construction began in 2019. The plant will enable carbon emissions to be reduced by 15,000 metric tons at the Lenzing facility.
Lenzing: weekly performance: 0.89%

EVN: Revenue recorded by Austrian utility company EVN Group rose by 7.6% to Euro 1,284.8 mn in the first half of 2020/21. This growth was supported, primarily, by the international project business and, in this connection, the wastewater treatment plant project in Kuwait which started in summer 2020. Network sales also increased during the reporting period, whereby positive factors included the cooler weather in all three core markets and the higher network tariffs set by E-Control in Austria as of 1 January 2021. Contrary factors were lower effects from the valuation of hedges for electricity generation and a decline in revenue from natural gas trading. Group net result for the period equalled Euro 176.0m, which represents an increase of 15.3% over the previous year. Under the assumption of average conditions in the energy business environment, EVN expects Group net result of approximately Euro 200 to 230 mn for the 2020/21 financial year.
EVN: weekly performance: -1.22%

Kapsch TrafficCom: Andreas Hämmerle will join the Executive Board of Kapsch TrafficCom, a provider of transportation solutions for sustainable mobility, as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from July 1, 2021. He currently holds the position of Executive Vice President Finance at the company.
Kapsch TrafficCom: weekly performance: 0.27%
