21st Austria weekly - Valneva, ams, Raiffeisen Bank International, Pierer Mobility (22/07/2020)

Valneva: Valneva, a french/Austrian specialty vaccine company focused on prevention of diseases with major unmet needs, today announced positive initial results for its first Phase 2 study (VLA15-201) of Lyme disease vaccine candidate VLA15. VLA15 was immunogenic across all dose groups tested. Compared to Phase 1, the higher doses used in this trial elicited higher antibody responses across all serotypes. Seroconversion rates (SCR) in the highest dose ranged from 81.5% (ST1) to 95.8% (ST2). In the age group comparable to the age group investigated in Phase 1 (18-49 years), SCRs ranged from 85.6% to 97%. The immunological response in older adults, one of the main target groups for a Lyme vaccine, is particularly encouraging. Results did not indicate that prior exposure to Lyme (sero-positivity) has an impact on immunogenicity or safety. As part of further Phase 2 data to be released in a few months, an analysis of the functionality of the antibodies generated with VLA15 will be conducted. In close collaboration with regulatory authorities, Valneva has developed a Serum Bactericidal Antibody assay (“SBA”) for that purpose.

ams, an Austrian based leading worldwide supplier of high performance sensor solutions, today launches the world’s smallest integrated ambient light sensor (ALS) and proximity detection module, enabling mobile handset OEM’s serving the mid-range market segment to develop mobile devices with virtually bezel-less displays. The TMD2755 module is 40% smaller in area and 64% smaller in volume than comparable devices in the market to-day. The TMD2755 provides a complete integrated 3-in-1 sensor solution, simplifying the phone manufacturer’s implementation, reducing board space requirements and enabling a best-in-class low-profile system design. The TMD2755 combines a low-power VCSEL emitter (with integrated, factory calibrated driver), an IR photodetector, and ambient light sensor in a narrow footprint and low profile 0.6mm height package. The new TMD2755 module’s footprint of just 1.1mm x 3.25mm is some 40% smaller than that of the next smallest comparable 3-in-1 (IR emitter + IR detector + ambient light sensor) modules on the market. Just 0.6mm high, the TMD2755 is also 64% smaller in volume.
AMS: weekly performance: -0.46%

Raiffeisen Bank International: Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) placed Euro 500 mn of perpetual additional tier 1 capital (AT1). This marks RBI’s third AT1 issuance since 2017 and further optimizes its capital structure and its compliance with Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 capital requirements. Furthermore, RBI's buffer to MDA trigger level improves to 2.38% (based on figures as of 31.03.2020 and adding this AT1 issuance as well as a Tier 2 issuance of RBI in June 2020). “Following a successful placement of a subordinated Tier 2 benchmark in early June, this issuance once again shows that RBI is an attractive issuer in the international capital markets”, commented Johann Strobl, CEO of RBI. The security has a coupon of 6.00% p.a. until December 2026 and will be reset thereafter. With demand of EUR 1.6 billion, the orderbook was significantly oversubscribed and met with a high level of interest from investors, primarily in the U.K., continental Europe and Asia.
RBI: weekly performance: -4.31%

Pierer Mobility: In the first half of 2020, over 70,171 KTM, Husqvarna and Gasgas motorcycles and 34,351 Husqvarna and R Raymon e-bikes were sold. This corresponds to an increase of +1.3% compared to the previous year. In addition, the Indian partner Bajaj sold 20,160 (previous year: 32,539) motorcycles under the KTM and Husqvarna brands in its markets hard hit by Corona in the first sixmonths. Due to the Corona-related two-month interruption of the production, PIERER MobilityAG expects sales of Euro 600 mn (first half 2019: Euro 754.9 mn), but already in the first half of the year a positive EBIT of Euro 1.7 mn (first half 2019: Euro 46.6 mn). Due to the strong global demand, the group expects sales to increase to more than Euro 800 mn in the second half of 2020 and is therefore significantly higher than in the same period of the previous year (second half 2019: Euro 765.3 mn). Annual sales for 2020 are expected to exceed Euro 1,400 mn (FY2019: Euro 1,520.1 mn). The e-bike division will alreadycontribute sales of more than Euro 110 mn.
Pierer Mobility AG: weekly performance: 1.63%
