21st Austria weekly - UBM, OMV, Andritz (12/12/2023)

17.12.2023

UBM: The project Timber Peak by UBM Development is starting to taking shape physically at Zollhafen Mainz. Construction work began with a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony. This means building work is now starting on the first of four sites acquired by UBM in March 2022 at Mainz’ former customs port. Altogether, these will offer over 42,000 m² gross floor area, of which around 75 percent are allocated to residential use and 25 percent to commercial/office purposes. When all stages of this development have been concluded, UBM anticipates sales revenue of over € 300 million.
UBM: weekly performance: 12.20%

OMV: OMV Petrom, the largest integrated energy company in Southeastern Europe, has continued to make significant progress in implementing Neptun Deep project. The company has signed an agreement with an estimated value of EUR 3251mn for the semi-submersible drilling rig Transocean Barents for a minimum period of one and a half years. Moreover, a contract of approximately EUR 140mn was signed with Halliburton Romania for integrated drilling services. These are in addition to the previously announced EUR 1.6 bn contract with Saipem for the offshore facilities, as well as other smaller contracts.
OMV: weekly performance: 2.09%

Andritz: International technology group Andritz and SSE Suomen Säätöenergia Oy, two leaders in clean energy and sustainable technologies, are collaborating to develop an innovative biofuel production plant at a site in the town of Nurmes, eastern Finland. The “Hybrid Refinery Nurmes” project will produce high-quality renewable methanol using gasification syngas from biomass and green hydrogen. Gasification is a well-known technology for converting biomass into usable synthesis gas. At the Nurmes plant, the biomass will come from forest residues such as tree trunks, leaves, bark and branches resulting from forestry activities. Green hydrogen for the plant will be produced by electrolysis of water. Andritz is currently carrying out the first concept study for the project that will also include the methanol synthesis process in addition to the green hydrogen and gasification technologies. Production is planned to commence at the end of 2026.
Andritz: weekly performance: 3.93%
