Zumtobel: The lightning group Zumtobel recorded good results for the first half of 2021/22 compared with the previous year: Group revenues rose by 10.1% to Euro 567.4 mn (H1 2020/21: Euro 515.4 mn), but the shortage of key raw materials and related price increases had a negative effect on revenue growth, especially in the second quarter. These circumstances prevented the Group from reaching the pre-crisis revenue level (Euro 603.8 mn) in spite of higher order levels. EBIT rose by 52.4% year-on-year to Euro 35.0 mn (H1 2020/21: Euro 22.9 mn) and nearly matched 2019/20 pre-crisis results. Net profit increased to Euro 23.0 mn (H1 2020/21: Euro 13.3 mn). CEO Alfred Felder: "Below the line, we have left the 2020/21 crisis year behind us with a 72% increase in net profit to Euro 23 mn. However, the second quarter showed us that the situation on the global raw materials market is still challenging." The Management Board of the Zumtobel Group remains optimistic despite the tense situation on the raw materials market and confirms its outlook for the 2021/22 financial year with an increase of 4% to 7% in revenues and an EBIT margin of 4% to 5%. "Our long-standing supplier relationships and the adjustments to our product development are important aspects to improve the availability of key components. Against this backdrop, we are optimistic – despite the tense situation on the raw materials market – that we will meet our forecast for the full 2021/22 financial year", Felder says.
