Andritz: International technology group Andritz has received another order from the Toyo Engineering Corporation and Nippon Steel Engineering (Karatsu) joint venture to supply a 50-MW PowerFluid circulating fluidized bed boiler on EPS basis. The boiler will be part of the biomass power plant in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, in Japan. Start-up is planned for 2024. Andritz Powerfluid (CFB) boiler systems are capable of efficiently combusting different types of fuel with varying consistency and moisture content in a single furnace without any hardware modifications being required.

Mayr-Melnhof: The Mayr-Melnhof Group (MM), Europe's leading producer of cartonboard and folding cartons, has joined the global "Business Ambition for 1.5°C" initiative to contribute to limiting global warming to 1.5 degree through appropriate measures. As part of this initiative, launched by the UN Global Compact and Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), among others, MM commits to setting science-based targets to seek for net-zero emissions in the whole value chain by 2050 at the latest. MM thus increases the pace of engagement on climate change at the time of major global milestones such as the UN Climate Change Conference COP26. Peter Oswald, CEO of the MM Group: "MM is a Sustainability Company at the forefront of plastic waste prevention with innovative recyclable packaging made from renewable raw materials. In addition, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to mitigate climate change is an integrated and integral part of our corporate strategy. That's why we set ourselves ambitious, science-based targets and take an active part in the Business Ambition for 1.5°C initiative to jointly drive a climate-friendly economy."

Vienna Stock Exchange: The trend of the current year on the Vienna Stock Exchange continues at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Turnover – generated by our domestic and international trading members – remains at a high level. In October 2021, the Vienna Stock Exchange recorded equity trading volumes of Euro 5.08 bn. This represents a significant increase of 7% compared to October 2020 (Euro 4.75 bn). Year-to-date equity turnover amounted to Euro 60.04 bn. Compared to the strong level of the previous year, this constitutes a further gain of 5.9% (Jan-Oct 2020: Euro 56.69 bn). Erste Group Bank AG with Euro 854 mn, OMV AG with Euro 839 mn, and Verbund AG with Euro 479 mn top the turnover ranking of Austrian shares.
