Strabag: Around ten days after Strabag announced the temporary halt of work on its construction sites in Austria, the largest Austrian construction group is now gradually resuming its construction activity. This move has been made possible by a social partner agreement reached yesterday, Thursday, on construction-related COVID-19 protective measures. “In the coming days we will look at each of our over one thousand construction sites in Austria to see whether and how the health precautions can be kept,” says Thomas Birtel, CEO of Strabag SE. Strabag believes that the hygienic and organisational protective measures will be possible at the majority of the construction sites in the course of the coming few weeks.

Polytec Group: Consolidated sales of automotive supplier Polytec declined by 1.5% to 627.1 mn in 2019 (2018: Euro 636.4 mn). For several quarters, the core business has been subject to reductions in call-offs and sales revenue losses caused by the significant changes in the automotive industry. In the 2019 financial year, earnings from the disposal of fixed assets contributed to a rise in EBITDA to Euro 68.4 min (2018: Euro 67.1 mn). Group EBIT in 2019 totalled Eur 32.6 mn (2018: Euro 40.1 mn). The influence of the corona crisis also means that conditions within the economic framework are constantly changing and the Polytec Group is also equally subject to these effects, which are beyond its control. However, the Polytec management has reacted immediately to these changed circumstances and has implemented the measures prescribed by the authorities for the protection of the workforce and the general public. "With an equity ratio of around 42% and cash and cash equivalents of more than Euro 50 n, the group is currently in a strong position", the company stated.
