AT&S: The spreading of the coronavirus disease is currently impacting the production of AT&S in China. Due to this development, revenue will fall short of expectations in the fourth quarter of the current financial year. AT&S has therefore adjusted its revenue and earnings forecast (previously: revenue at the prior-year level of Euro 1,028.0 mn; EBITDA margin between 20% and 25%) and expects revenue to amount to Euro 960 mn, with an EBITDA margin in the range of 18% to 20%. Subject to staff availability, the plants in Shanghai and Chongqing II will start production in the week of 10 February 2020 after extended New Year's holidays. The Chongqing I plant resumed production at reduced capacity after the New Year's celebrations as planned. AT&S currently considers the following aspects to influence the development in the coming months: a deterioration of the current general conditions, the provision of production materials and personnel, processes in the supply chain and the demand situation. AT&S currently employs roughly 7,000 people in China and produces the majority of the Group's revenue there.
AT&S: weekly performance:
Employment in Austria: At the end of January 2020, unemployment in Austria was still noticeably below the previous year. With 420,701 people registered with the employment service Austria as unemployed or in training, 12,684 or 2.9% fewer people were looking for work than in January 2019. Almost all federal states have declining numbers, only in Vorarlberg are 5 % more people looking for work than a year ago. This time the construction sector has made a significant contribution to this positive development. The above-average warm January combined with a still good order situation causes construction unemployment (including people in training) to drop very sharply, dropping 4,711 people or 7.2%. Unemployment rose slightly in the area of the production of goods as in the previous months with an increase of 728 or 2.2%.
