21st Austria weekly - Warimpex, Wolford, Agrana (14/12/2018)

Warimpex: The Austrian based real estate development and investment company Warimpex has a new tenant in one of its office buildings in Poland. Orange Polska is yet another tenant of the recently opened Ogrodowa office building in the center of Łódź. The company rented over 4,000 m2 of office and warehouse space on the first floor to beused as offices relocated from other buildings in Łódź. The international real estate consulting company CBRE participated in the transaction. “Currently the building’s commercialization degree has gone up to nearly 60% and we also observe that the recent commissioning of our office building increases the interest of potential tenants. As an A-class office building, Ogrodowa Office, with all the advantages of this type of space, is an excellent choice for companies that want to provide their employees with a comfortable workplace in the bustling, central point of the city,” said Alexander Jurkowitsch, Warimpex Management Board member.
Warimpex: weekly performance: -0.46%

Wolford: Skin-wear producer Wolford AG, which is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange, generated revenue of Euro 62.37 mm in the first half of the current financial year, comprising a decline of 11% compared to Euro 70.15 mn in the previous year. Within the context of systematically reducing ongoing costs, Wolford managed to slightly improve operating earnings (EBIT) in spite of the revenue decline and higher marketing costs. EBIT in the first half of the current 2018/19 financial year amounted to Euro -5.92 mn, compared to  -6.18 mn in the prior-year period. Wolford generated a positive second-quarter EBIT of about Euro 1 mn. However, as the consequence of a tax payment, earnings after tax deteriorated to Euro -7.33 mn, down from Euro -6.62 mn in the first six months of 2017/18. The third quarter of the year which traditionally generates the highest revenue has just commenced, the generated cost savings have proven to be sustainable, and the company is continually striving to reduce fixed costs. For these reasons, the management continues to expect positive operating earnings (EBIT) in the current 2018/19 financial year. However, third-quarter revenue development will be of crucial importance.
Wolford: weekly performance: -3.01%

Agrana: The stock listed fruit, starch and sugar group Agrana signed a joint venture agreement with US-based sugar producer Amalgamated (The Amalgamated Sugar Company) relating to the construction of a betaine crystallisation plant at its sugar mill in Tulln, Lower Austria. The conclusion of the contract is subject to approval by the anti-trust authorities. Betaine is manufactured from sugar beet molasses and has numerous practical applications. Betaine is used not only in the livestock sector as a constituent of animal feedstuffs but also in food supplements and sports drinks. Due to its osmoregulatory properties, betaine is also used in cosmetic products. Work on the new betaine crystallisation plant is intended to start in early 2019. The financing required for the new facility of the joint venture amounts to around Euro 40 mn. The construction work will take approximately a year.
Agrana: weekly performance: 4.80%
