Palfinger: The Monna Lisa is the Prysmian Group’s new cutting-edge cable laying vessel, currently under construction at VARD Tulcea in Romania. Palfinger Marine has been officially commissioned to deliver a major equipment package to support their decarbonization goals. The Monna Lisa, sister ship to Prysmian’s Leonardo da Vinci, is 171 meters long and can accommodate up to 120 people. With its 100 tons of cable pulling tension, it has the deepest power cable installation capacity in the market, reaching as far as 3,000 meters of water depth. The equipment package from Palfinger consists of a large A- frame for plough operations, an active heave-compensated lifting/towing winch, one towing winch, one combined quadrant/auxiliary winch, two auxiliary winches, one towing roller with limiting pins, two hangar travelling cranes, two tension elevators with hatch covers, two mooring platforms, two provision platforms, two ROV doors with L-hatches, lifeboats and fenders.

Andritz: International technology group Andritz will supply a methanol liquefaction plant to Japanese unbleached kraft pulp producer Hyogo Pulp Industries Ltd. The plant will be installed at the Tanigawa mill to replace fossil-based support fuel with renewable liquid methanol, a by-product of the chemical recovery process. This is the first plant of its kind in the Japanese pulp industry. “With this investment, we are taking our first step toward becoming a biorefinery,” said Naoki Ikawa, Representative Executive Director of Hyogo Pulp Industries, Ltd.

ams Osram: ams Osram announced the pricing of EUR 1 billion senior notes, comprising EUR 625 million aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes due March 2029 at a coupon of 10.5% per annum and of USD 400 million aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes due March 2029 at a coupon of 12.25% per annum. The company also entered into an agreement to extend the maturity of its EUR 100 million overdraft facility with Commerzbank to June 2026, which is expected to take effect following closing its planned rights offering.
