21st Austria weekly - Wienerberger, VIG (28/03/2022)

03.04.2022

Wienerberger: Brick company Wienerberger Group is looking back on 2021, the most successful business year in the company's history. In the reporting year, external revenues increased by 18% to almost Euro 4.0 bn (2020: € 3.4 bn) and EBITDA grew by an outstanding 24% to Euro 694 mn (2020: Euro 558 mn), a performance achieved through proactive margin management and strict cost discipline. In its combined Annual and Sustainability Report, Wienerberger provides a comprehensive overview of the current corporate strategy and the ESG priorities implemented in this context. For the first time, the Annual Report is available as an online document and can be viewed via an interactive micro-site containing detailed information on all current projects and targets. Heimo Scheuch, CEO of Wienerberger AG: "All our corporate activities are subject to clearly defined and ambitious ESG criteria and geared toward the achievement of our ambitious targets set for 2023, including a 15% reduction of CO2 emissions and ensuring that all new Wienerberger products are designed to be fully recyclable or reusable."
Wienerberger: weekly performance: -0.73%

Vienna Insurance Group: Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) founds an assistance company in Serbia. The planned foundation of Global Assistance Belgrad in April 2022 will see Vienna Insurance Group continuing to expand dedicated companies for digital customer service. By the end of 2022, VIG Group customers in eleven countries will be supported by the Group's own service companies.  VIG Managing Board member Harald Riener, who is responsible for assistance, explains: "Firstly, we are creating tangible new supplementary services that we want to offer independently of risk protection. This approach is increasingly important given that the frequency of contact with customers is decreasing, which in turn makes our visibility as an insurance partner all the more crucial. Secondly, with this approach we are able to provide a single-source solution for the entire process, from the quote through to claims management and assistance. The concept creates clear added value for customers, and it allows us to significantly influence and improve service quality by controlling the process cycle for claims management from the first contact through to compensation payments."
VIG: weekly performance: 0.00%
