Vienna Airport: The strong growth of Flughafen Wien AG (Vienna Airport) is continuing. In June 2019, the total number of passengers handled by the Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) rose by 17.4% to 3.8 million travellers. The accumulated passenger volume in the period January to June 2019 was up 19.9% to 18.1 million. Vienna Airport once again registered a substantial increase in passenger volume of 23.9% in the first six months of 2019 to 14.7 million.

Atrium Real Estate: Atrium European Real Estate Limited, owner, operator and redeveloper of shopping centres and retail real estate in Central Europe, confirmed that it has completed Euro 341 mn of transactions in Poland comprising the disposal of two assets and an acquisition. Atrium has now completed the Euro 298 mn sale of two Polish shopping centres, Atrium Koszalin and Atrium Felicity, to a fund managed by ECE Real Estate Partners. The sale price represents c.3% premium to the 31 March 2019 book value. Atrium has also recently completed the acquisition of the King Cross Praga shopping centre in Warsaw for Euro 43 mn. This well-established asset offers future redevelopment opportunities and will be the Company’s fifth asset in its Warsaw portfolio.

S Immo/UBM: Hotel developer UBM Development acquired a property in one of Vienna’s best locations from real estate company S Immo. It is located between Siebenbrunnengasse and Stolberggasse in the Fifth District and was owned by S Immo AG since 2015. Plans call for the construction of roughly 165 modern residential units on a usable area of nearly 12,000 m2. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2020. This residential project, which will also include a new building, should be completed during the first half of 2022. The extensive refurbishment planned for the commercial part of the project can be completed quickly. In total, over 17,000 m2 of modern residential and commercial space will be developed in this location. The parties have agreed not to disclose any information on the purchase price for the transaction.
