Statistics Austria: The construction cost index (CCI 2015) for construction of residential buildings reached 107.8 index points in January 2019, according to calculations by Statistics Austria. This represents an increase of 1.8% over January 2018. Compared to December 2018, the index increased by 0.4%. The index for road construction increased to 108.0 index points (+3.8% in annual comparison), the index for bridge construction changed to 109.1 points (+2.2% compared to January 2018), and the index for sanitary engineering reached 106.4 points (+2.1% in annual comparison).

Statistics Austria: 8,859,992 people were living in Austria on 1 January 2019, according to preliminary results by Statistics Austria. Compared to the beginning of 2018, the resident population increased by 37,725 persons (+0.43%). Thus, the Austrian population growth reached the lowest level within the last seven years; lower population growth was last recorded in 2011 (+0.39%). Between 2012 and 2017, the annual increase of Austria's resident population averaged 0.80%. In 2017, population growth had been significantly higher (+49 402 persons; +0.56%). At the beginning of 2019, some 1.44 million foreign citizens were living in Austria, representing a share of 16.2% of the total population (compared to 15.8% on 1 January 2018).

Vienna Stock Exchange: The management board of the exchange operating company, Wiener Börse AG, passed the resolution to admit BofA Securities Europe SA, Paris (France) as a new member to the Vienna Stock Exchange in its function as securities exchange effective as of 19 February 2019.
